Privacy: the waitlist
Last updated: 7 November 2026. This covers the Buddy Up waitlist only. The app will have its own privacy notice before it opens.
Who we are
Buddy Up, based in the UK. Questions or requests: [email protected].
What we keep
- Your email address.
- Your city, or the town you typed in.
- If you answered: what you'd like to join, and whether you might host a plan.
- That you confirmed you're 18 or over, and when you joined.
That's all. No tracking or advertising cookies, and we don't store your IP address.
Why
To email you when Buddy Up opens near you, and to see which cities and plans people want so we know where to start. If you said you might host, we may email you about hosting.
We do this with your consent, which you give by joining the waitlist. You can take it back any time.
Who else sees it
No one outside Buddy Up. Your details are stored with Cloudflare, which runs this website, and our emails are sent through Resend, an email service. Neither can use your details for anything else. We never sell or share your details.
How long we keep it
Until we've told you Buddy Up is open in your city, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. If Buddy Up never launches, we delete the list.
Your rights
To leave the waitlist, use the link at the bottom of any email from us. You can also ask to see, correct or delete your details: write to [email protected] and we'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
